Give me something, and I will figure it out before too long. About a week ago, I got my main box fixed, but due to not realy having a decent disto laying around, I threw win98 on it, for, if nothing else, I can get my skils back up. Well, a week has gone by, and I've got things tweaked out pretty good. Windows boots realy fast, stays up for up to 3 days at a time, and doesn't have a start menu! Granted, this does cause some programs to crash (all install things that are badly writen). I replaced the shell 'explorer' with a little program I wrote called 'list'. List is 8k, and realy fast. It's quick and dirty, and gets the job done. Not to mention the fact that 'doze runs much faster without explorer hogging all the ram (since it isn't running!).

Winamp is what this document is realy about, so I should realy start talking about it, now shouldn't I? Well, I got it to play mp3's since I realy like them a lot, and have converted 100+ CD's into that format (well, actualy my roomate did most of the conversion).

I like winamp, it's cute, supports cute plugins, and whatnot. About 3 days ago, I sorted through some 1000+ skins for it, grabing the best looking ones I could find (only about 25). I found one I realy liked, but it had some major issues. The text wasn't very readable, and it just needed a bit of work.

Now, having no idea how to actualy do this, I decide it's time to figure out how. Skins come ziped, so I just opened on up, and examined what was inside. The way they are put together is very much line an Enlightenment theme. But, not as configurable. But, after spending a couple nights toying with it, I have finaly become pretty happy with it. I even figured out how to 'shape' the main window. Very cheesy.
