I took the plunge. MacOS X! This is pretty cool, mac and unix finaly united. But it falls short in some areas. The interface is wonderfull for the most part. But has some bits lacking.

The most annoying thing IMHO, would have to be the lack of application grouping. Or, to explain that a bit... When you have to Internet Explorer windows open, and you click on one, it doesn't raise the other one. That's pretty annoying. But, also very unix like ;) Heh, after using only Macs for quite a while, I find it a bit 'odd' to say the least.

Other than that, it's very stable, and pretty good for speed. Mostly. All the animations make my G3 drag a bit, oh well.

On another note of intrest, thier is this girl who has a Tangerine iBook sitting in the corner. Ohh, that thing is so sexy! (the iBook). I never expected that color to be so bold. Heh, first time I've ever seen one with my own eyes. I can totaly see how some people where scared to hve one of that color. It's just a little flashy :) Hmm, no. It says "I'm a Macintosh fan!" lound and clear. I like.

Also, on my way to work this morning there was an SUV ahead of me during the construction. Since I had pleanty of time to look at the back of his car (traffic was backed up for about six blocks), I noticed some apple logos on his bumper. New ones, this guy is a major Mac fan! He'd have to be.

Granted in this day and age, it's kina like having a sticker that says "I'm gay" on the back of your car. Hmm, most people just write gays off as crazy, and try to stay away from them. Same goes for Mac Users.

Back to the topic. Thier are not that many Mac programs out there, granted more than enough, but not many compared to the millions of windows programs. This is going to be a problem with OS X. If they don't have enough apps ready when it's released... It could kill apple. Hmm, maby that's a bit harsh. It would hurt them really badly.

Being based on something totaly diffrent from any other MacOS makes little difference. Several times Apple has just kina changed things around on it's users. The switch from 68k to PPC is probably the best example. It went almost seamlessly. Most uses never really noticed. This one may not go the same way, but I have high hopes. Apple has treated us well, and should continue to do so in the future.
