I've been looking for a CD for about two days now. I've hit up all the major stores in the area but no luck. The problem is larger than this. It's not just about me not able to find an obscure album. It's about freedom.

It's about having choice in what you listen to. As it stands now thier is little. So, I'm at a major chain. Everything they have is edited. IE the bad words have been bleeped out.

Instead of not selling albums with bad ideas or lyrics they bleep them. I don't see how this is better. They will never cary anything that's not a best seller. Never will you see "Bad Religion" there. Not to name thousands of other bands who don't fit the mold.

It's about selling people what they want. Not the other way around. Remember this is amerikkka. Land of the free, and home of the slave. Who is the slave? You.

You are force fed what's right, and what's wrong. Thier truth is your truth since you have no other source for information. They have taken you out behind the shed and raped your mind with political corectness.

What choice do you have? You want to listen to music, but only meaningless shit is avaliable. Given the choice most people would rather listen to meanless shit than nothing. What a sad state we are in.

Instead of complaining you just shut up and get with the program. This kind of behaviour is classic of rape. In turn rape is also a form of brainwashing. It's not about sex. Never was. It's about power.

Lets talk about napster.

I know this has been overdone in the last few months (or more), but fuck you. I'm going to talk about it.

When you buy a CD, do you own it? (think hard about this one)

It would appear that you don't. You just have a liscense to listen to it. It means that you have no rights in what you do with the CD. You can't make backups, and you sure as hell can't copy it.

Or that's what the RIAA says. Why? They fear change. It's all the same. Remember when the VCR came out? Yep, the film industry was in an uproar that nobody would buy any of thier movies anymore. And what was the outcome of that?

The RIAA has ignored that sales have improved since napster has come into the show. Hell, I've bought more CD's since I've been using napster. I'm sick of all this shit, and think the RIAA is wrong in this matter.

Lets move onto DVD. This makes me even more pissed. Did you know that if you buy a DVD outside the US, you arn't allowd to play it in the US? Or visa versa? Your player is stuck in a 'region'. You can only play DVDs from there.

Where does that leave people who collect foren films? Yep, they have to buy *many* players. Oh, and your not allowd to export/import the players either. It's a way for them to sell more DVD's.

Another thing is price. I have a problem with it, same problem I have with CD prices. CD/DVD costs twice what the tape version does. WHY!? They are cheaper to produce! Quality and price should not have to go together like this.

The reason they cost more, is that people are willing to pay more. I'm ususaly not. This is one reason I love napster. I'm sick of paying more than what something is realy worth.

You think life here is bad? Imagine how it is for those pathetic fucks who live in the third world countrys that we feed off of. The countrys where a great deal of our toys are made. Made by children who where never taught to read.

What's the diffrence though? People in this country can barely read either. It's amazing how few can actualy do so. While I admit that the english language is rather strange, it's not that hard.

I deal with people all day at work. You can't fathom the number of times I've had someone not be able to read simple words off the screen for me. Rather they note what the pictures nearby look like.

What's most upseting is that these are adults! I can't belive they made it out of grade school with such rudimentry reading skills.

Also, remember that schools would like all students to read by the fifth grade. What the hell? Yes, I'm serious. I guess when you have such low expectations it's hard to fall below them.

They do anyway.

When I get calls about billing disputes this is also the reason. They can't do simple math, but think they can. They complain that one plus one don't equal two like we say.

People get very defensive and angry when you point out thier error. Espicaly when you point out how everything they know is wrong. They just can't deal with is (since they are experts on everything).

Oh, something else of intrest...

The target is dead, mean old target, nasty old target! *dance*

Well, not dead, I no longer have to answer his ignorant questions. No more "Just show me how to do it, I'll learn later". That so pisses me off.

But it's over. It would appear that he was the first person to ever be fired from where I work. Interesting.

A few hours after his account was turned off, he had the balls to ask for it back again. Joy of all joys. I sure as hell don't want him calling up asking for 'help'. He needs help. He needs some lead between his eyes.

I actualy stayed home today (for longer than ususal). I woke up, took a leak then found a few kids on the couch. I wasn't able to go back to sleep due to this. I didn't have the heart to have them move.

So, I got on the net, and tuned out everything happening (I'm still not sure who's kids they where). After a few hours I had proped myself up in the corner, and went to sleep. Woke up and left.

If anyone in a *warm* place reads this, you too can have your very own 'guy on the couch'. I'll provide the service for free! Note that this offer is currently only avaliable for people who live where it never gets near cold enough to snow.

Nethack time!
