It happend again. My truck took a dump on me. I blew the bottom hose on the radiator. Forcieng it to try to overheat very quickly. Got off work last night, and went to the diner. The normal ritual. And then, just outside lincoln, noticed my engine temp was way up. Pulled over on the side of the road, poped the hood and noticed the problem. I let it set and cool off for a while. Went back to town, and tried to find an open gas station. No luck with that at 0200.

I found one that still had the lights on, and atempted to do a patch there. LOL, the bottom hose is under some pretty high pressure, ducttape didn't hold. Slowed he loss of fluid down a bit, but didn't realy help at all.

It took me about an hour to make it to IN. Who could I call? I don' know anybody's phone number here. Heh, and I realy didn't feel like jacking into some strangers telco box to get on the net.

That worked, I actualy remembered how to disable the security system. Got on IRC, and sent out a distress call. At 0300, somebody had to be up ;) Yep, mbuna (the sysadmin) was up. He gave me a ride to his house to crash at. Here after another smoke, I'm going to wake him up so I can get a new hose. Should be pretty easy to install. I've still got a little over two hours before I need to be at work.

Heh, at least I didn't blow the engine (yet)...
