A new virus was noticed today. It's called "Code Red". Very evil thing, takes over Windows NT servers that are running IIS. I'm not sure where it came from though.

It was either a 12 year old script kiddie who should be spanked, or china who should be nuked. Hmm, too hard to tell who's to blame yet.

Why don't we just do both?

Needless to say, as an added side effect, it also takes out cisco 67x routers. Where I work we use a lot of those. Hmm, no. What's more than a lot? Hundreds or thousands. I have no idea.

But every client who has one of these was taken out. Reboot it, and it's better. At least till it gets hit again. I'd say about 90 seconds. Needless to say, I spent *all* day on the phone.

You will not belive how much trouble today has been. I want to nuke china, and spank all the script kiddies I can find. Sadly it's more likely just some idiotic script kiddie.

Hmm, life is simply not fair. Today was supposto be a good day! Then all this crap occurs. It's enough to make me want to drive into a wall at high speed.

Granted all that would do, is cause me to buy a new car. Being imortal has it's down sides. Hmm, even if I where to shoot myself it wouldn't work. It would be very boring to be buried alive with a nasty headache.

The world is scatching at my door. Can't let them in. Must keep telling myself that I can't let that happen. Not at any cost.

On the bright side, I didn't kill anyone today. Only thought about it (quite a bit). Hmm, even better I wasn't required to break any bones. Just yell a lot.

People calling up, and they think they know what's wrong. Screw that, I explain it to them, and then I have to explain what a "Denial of Service" attack is. Bah! How can anyone not know that!?

But then again, most of these people never where script kiddies. Heh, I now feel shamed for going through a faze of that. It didn't last very long, mostly due to it being pretty boring.

Not that I didn't get into the occasional IRC war from time to time after that, but danmit, the other guy deserved it! It was such a rare thing that I'd louse too :)

Though two guys with 14.4 modems going at each other doesn't cause any real problems for anyone else.

Oh well, busy day tommorw. I'm going to have another smoke, then go home.
