Oh, yah. Today was a good day. It was the best day of my life in fact.

Well, maby not

Quite frankly, today sucked. It sucked hardcore. I've been up for almost two days now. And, feel only weary, not actualy tired.

My internet account got deleted at about 12:30 today 12.13.99.

So, I went in to pay my bill (hadn't paid in a while (guess I'm just lazy)). Plus, having no usable vechicle realy hinders the 15 mile journy to hand them cash. First I got on a bike...decided that that was a bad idea after a few minuits (Haven't riden one in years). Then, decideing that it was not help full to attempt that way, I decided to drive. Not the best of ideas...I didn't have working brakes. But, I was desperate. So, I drove to beatrice anyway. Using the emergency brake to stop. Not very effective. But I didn't kill anybody. After I pulled into town, I parked at the mall, thinking I would just walk from there, so I would not actualy have to drive in traffic. But, then I remembered that there was an autoparts store across the highway. So, I went there, and bought a new brake line (the offending part). Found out that it was too short, so I went back, and exchanged it for another one. came to about five dollars. I was happy, expected to pay 20$ for a new line. After spending about an hour and a half installing it, then bleeding the brake system, I continued on. With my truck. The breaks where still a bit shakey (it realy takes two people to bleed them), but they where usable. Mostly.

Went into my ISP to pay them, and was informed that I had gotten in trouble for 'hacking'. HMM, the last time I did that, I was helping a friend secure his system, then found somebody on his subnet with a nasty program installed. I checked it out (I'm curious, what can I say?). Something didn't look right, I'd played with this tool in a clean room enviorment quite a bit. So, I sent the moron some messages warning him that he was infected. Apparently, then he called up my ISP. FUCK! Last time I try to help some luser patch up a hole. God he sucks. I'd like to kill him.

This woke me up. Had to figure out a way to have acces again. I just had to. So, I skated to computers.etc. They offered intenet nebraska. Not my favorite ISP in the world, but not bad. Within minuits, I was setup. Well, had the paperwork done. Then I went back to the truck, and went home. Dialed in with minicom to see what kind of auth they used, so I could set it up properly. Turned out what I got was a shell! I was so happy. And, it was so much better than all-tell's shell. It was a sun! all-tell had an AIX (pice of shit box). After a few minuits, I messed up my account pretty bad, but then had it fixed by one of the tech support guys. Would have fixed it myself, but due to a slight error, when I loged in, it loged me right back out. Haven't used a sun box in quite a while.

Before long, I had everything working...I have yet to clean it up, and make it more elegant, but it works fo now.

Delphi popd on while the latter part of this was occuring. So, I gave her access to the webserver. I still feel realy bad about what happend. It was a totaly avoidable aident. All my fault. But, I will make up for it, somehow. Have to remember to have somebody send them a check.

Glad I have my email routed through email.com. So, I won't have to reissue my e-mail adress to everybody I know. Thank god for that. I had some foresight. But, that was because of how often I move.

Oh well, at least these guys give me 10 megs of space for my webpage. That's cool, because I was getting near my limit with ispi. Now I've got 6 megs left to play with (though I need to save some for toying with).
